CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - EXTENDED
Saturday, November 13, 2010
@ Mercedes-Benz Downtown
761 Dundas St. E. @ River St.
The Little Art Show is Toronto’s affordable boutique art auction. Original and limited edition works donated by established and emerging artists (and no bigger than 8” x 10”) are selected by jury and auctioned off at Mercedes-Benz Downtown (Dundas & River). Event proceeds fund the operations of the Artists’ Network, a dedicated member-driven not-for-profit with a mandate of supporting visual artists and their practice through a program of professional development, studio and exhibition opportunities and operates the Hang Man Gallery and the annual Riverdale Art Walk.
The LAS is an accessible platform to promote your practise. Here’s what you get as a donor artist if your work is selected for inclusion by our jury:
Due to other deadlines in the arts community, we'd like to extend our submission deadlines to allow artists the opportunity to create and complete their artwork submissions and participate in the Little Art Show experience.

Thanks go to our sponsors,
MERCEDES-BENZ DOWNTOWN

NOW Magazine
Thyme and Truffle
and many more.
But, especially to
ALL OUR DONATING ARTISTS.
We tried some things new, some worked some didn't. We, like any artist, are emerging into a period of growth and vibrancy over the last few months. We try different things to keep things fresh. The live art and the gallery of larger work were well received. Thanks to Ben Stansfield our artist, and Olena Sullivan our Hang Man Gallery @ LAS Co-ordinator. Our Honourary Chair and MC, Jake Gold did a great job. We have many volunteers who gave of their time and energy. A special thanks has to go to Toni Wallachy for organizing the artwork for the silent auction and Paul Milne who had the daunting task of organizing an off-sight kitchen and transporting the food to the venue.
We had many who helped with the cash desk. Doug Zest and Rod Trider were instrumental in organizing the volunteers who gladly took your money when you bought a piece of art. The board really came through in their support and worked dilligently during the evening. Karen and David who welcomed our guests had little time to enjoy the evening upstairs but I am extremly grateful for your time and energy, and are representative of the dedicated people who helped out. I personally want to thank the staff of the Network who went beyond the call of duty, Barb Lewis, Marianne Botha and Sean Lewis, as well as our intern Aleks Roxborough. Our LAS Co-ordinator Dawn Stafrace came to the role without any prior knowledge of the show and certainly helped to present it well.
Thank you all for making this year such a success.
We managed to exceed our expectaions in the donations of work.
We raised the average sale price for the silent auction.
Hang Man @ LAS was a great success on numerous levels.
We presented the strongest collection of work at the LAS ever!
We made money!!!!!!
Thank you!
