Ruth has taken stills for National Film Board documentaries, including 'A Joy of Singing,' about Claude Corbeil and Maureen Forrester teaching master voice classes in China, and Canada's Stratford Festival Theatre's mounting of three Gilbert and Sullivan operettas. Her photographs have appeared in NFB promotional material as well as Maclean's and Time magazines.
Ruth has photographed performers from the Montreal Burlesque Festival 2010 and 2011. A few of her images from the 2010 Montreal Burlesque Festival have been published in the book 'Burlesque The True Art of Seduction' Michel Grondin and Scarlett James 2011.
Ruth has taken photographs for Toronto's Next Stage Theatre Festival and has shown her work at Contact 2009, where her images were noted by Toronto Life as one of fifty best bets, Contact at the Gladstone Hotel, Toronto Image Works, Gallery DK, the Little Art Show, Hang Man Gallery, the Riverdale Art Walk, and the Queen West Art Crawl.
Ruth remains true to her documentary roots capturing images as dictated by the subject and setting with little or no manipulation.
