Artists’ Network Gallery Pop-Up at ArtWalk in the Square

Overview:
The Artists’ Network is committed to providing exhibition opportunities for our member artists. We appreciate that there are artists who either live too far away to participate in ArtWalk in the Square or have vacation plans for September. For this reason, we have created a NEW opportunity for artists to participate. We will have an Artists’ Network Gallery booth attached to the Artists’ Network information booth. This show will be juried by the Artists’ Network for submission. Space is limited: Artists’ Network member will be given priority.

NEW – based on feedback from our artists and patrons who are away during August, we have moved ArtWalk in the Square to early September – when kids are back to school and people are back in the city. The Friday night will be a “Night Art Market” with lights and festivities! Once again, we will be offering the opportunity to participate in the Pop-Up Artists Network Gallery at the show. This is designed to give new or remote members the opportunity to participate without being onsite.

About: ArtWalk in the Square is a juried show featuring ONLY fine art. With over 75 established and emerging artists exhibiting painting, photography, mixed media, printmaking, drawing, glass and sculpture, this show continues to grow and increase its audience. We have partnered with Cadillac Fairview to host and promote this show and they tracked over 25,000 unique visitors during the show last year.

CF Shops at Don Mills is where fashion, dining and entertainment come outside to play. Visit Ontario’s first and finest open-air centre with exceptional shops, restaurants and services surrounding a lovely Town Square. With no other major art shows north of Bloor and many new developments in the area, this is a great place to expand your exposure and promote your work.

Participating artists will receive:

  • Work will be hung by artist with 2 artists sharing a grid wall. ‘Wall’ space is 60” wide x 72” high however, hanging space is approximately 55” wide x 55” high to allow space between artist and to ensure art is not too close to the ground. Maximum of 6 paintings with the largest no bigger than 36” x 36”. We recommend a mix of large and smaller pieces to facilitate sales.
  • Grid walls covered in canvas for a professional look
  • Opportunity to include your bio and CV in a show binder
  • Opportunity to have your business card onsite
  • Signage with your name and social handle
  • Labels for each artwork
  • Payment processing

Criteria:

  • Multiple pieces permitted with a maximum of 2,916 square inches (54” x 54”). Maximum of 6 paintings with the largest no bigger than 36” x 36”. We recommend a mix of large and smaller pieces to facilitate sales – see sample.
  • Fine Art only – no reproductions (see notes regarding photography)
  • Only 1 space can be purchased per artist
  • No additional work needed, if a work sells, it will NOT be replaced with another piece
  • Ship or deliver artwork to arrive at the Artists’ Network office no later than Tuesday, September 10 OR drop off onsite Thursday evening, September 12, OR dropped off Friday morning September 13. Details to follow.
  • All work must be labeled on back and ready to hang; either wired or D-Rings attached to the top of the frame. Work not wired will NOT be hung and no refunds given.
  • All work shipped and delivered MUST match the labels/art information provided to the Artists’ Network. Note: deadline for any art information is 10 business days prior to event date.
  • All work to be individually wrapped in sleeves with title and artist’s name clearly labeled on the outside of the sleeve. This protects your work as it will need to be taken down and stored each night. In addition, we will use these sleeves to send the work to a new home if it is purchased.
  • Artists must make arrangements for art to be picked up from the Artists Network office the week of September 23, 2019 or pick-up at show closing September 15, 2019.
  • Commission: 20% per piece sold will go to the Artists’ Network.

Submission Details and Fee:

  • Art Space = 60” x 72” (see below for example)
  • Members: 125.00 + HST
  • Non-Members: $175 + HST

Jury Process: LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE! All submissions will be juried on a rolling basis as work is submitted. Submissions will close when the gallery space is full. Space is limited so we recommend you submit ASAP. Please ensure your photos are in focus and cropped to include ONLY the art.
