ArtWalk in the Square is a three-day, public fine art exhibition at the CF Shops at Don Mills. With over 90 established and emerging artists exhibiting painting, photography, mixed media, printmaking, drawing, glass and sculpture, in a juried show featuring ONLY fine art. We anticipate 75 artists in tents and 20 artists in the Pop-up Gallery .

CF Shops at Don Mills is where fashion, dining and entertainment come outside to play. Visit Ontario’s first and finest open-air centre with exceptional shops, restaurants and services surrounding a lovely Town Square. This upscale centre hosts shops such as Anthropologie, Michael Kors and Roots combined with restaurants, coffee shops and the Cineplex VIP movie theatre.

Last year, the CF Shops at Don Mills tracked over 17,000 unique visitors during ArtWalk in the Square, with store sales up 2% over the weekend.

The Friday night will be a “Night Art Market” with lights and festivities! Once again, we will be offering the opportunity to participate in the Pop-Up Artists Network Gallery at the show. This is designed to give new or remote members the opportunity to participate without being onsite.

Artist Awards in Photography, Painting, Mixed Media, and Other Media have been created through exciting new sponsorships with local organizations and businesses. We are working with the local retailers to create additional showing opportunities such as cross promotions and a windows preview.

Please read our exhibition guidelines in detail before applying. The application must be completed in full, including the payment of required fees, to be considered.

PLEASE NOTE: We are aware that Yom Kippur starts at sundown on Sunday, September 27th and will work with you to enable you to participate in your traditions.

Jury Details

ArtWalk in the Square is juried by arts professionals. They are looking for a consistent theme to the work, originality, and quality. Submitted images must be clear, sharp, and representative of what you will exhibit; rejected submissions are often due to poor quality images or photographs that have other elements (walls, frames) in the submission photo. Please be sure you follow submission requirements.

Promotion

In partnership with the CF Shops at Don Mills, we heavily promote ArtWalk in the Square – via social media, postcard dissemination to high income neighborhoods, a substantial digital ad campaign and print ads. We promote our shows via social online event calendars and distribute our event guide to local hotels, restaurants and retail locations. In addition, we provide artists with the tools they need to promote their participation in our shows.

Automatic Acceptance for Artists’ Network Members – Early Bird Only

We value our members – if you are an Artists’ Network member and have shown in 2018, you are automatically eligible to participate in this year’s shows. You MUST be a member at the time of submission AND you must still complete a submission with images.

Applies to Early Bird submissions only.

Booth Selection

Booth allocation will be drawn at random in 3 batches: early bird, regular submission and late submission. If you have a specific request, please let us know during submission and we will attempt to place you in the best available booth that most closely matches your request when your name is drawn. Please be specific as possible (ie where booth 24 was last year vs the same spot I had last year). No guarantees of location are made and all locations are subject to change due to park conditions. We will do our best to accommodate any medical restrictions.

Artist Gallery

All accepted artists and galleries will be featured in our online gallery and listed in our event guide.

Code of Conduct

Artists’ Network is committed to always act with fairness, honesty, integrity and openness; respect the opinions of others and treat all with equality and dignity without regard to gender, race, colour, creed, ancestry, place of origin, political beliefs, religion, marital status, disability, age, or sexual orientation. We expect the same from our artist members. We will not tolerate any abusive or threatening behaviour towards any member of our team. Refusal to comply with this policy may result in an artist being asked to leave the show.
