Writing for Artists – Part I

Sometimes art can speak for itself – but more often than not, artists need to communicate on behalf of their work and ideas to reach a wider audience. Participants will learn about the common writing formats artists are asked to produce, from biographies and artist statements to exhibition proposals, as well as writing and editing techniques. The seminar will include a short writing exercise for participants to draft a 2-3 sentence statement. Artists are invited to share their short statements for feedback verbally or post them in the chat.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a 2 Part Series. Artists do not need to attend the first to get value from the second but it is recommended to do both.
